Botswana Agate is a distinct, banded variety of chalcedony (a quartz mineral) found exclusively in the Bobonong district of Botswana. Renowned for its delicate parallel bands in shades of gray, white, beige, pink, and apricot, it is often called the "Sunset Stone" because of its ability to retain sunlight. Due to its high-quality banding, limited supply, and unique aesthetic, it is considered superior to many other types of agate.
